Hello There

My name is Gokul S Krishnan.

I am currently pursuing a visiting research position as Guest Researcher/International Associate at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA. I will be joining back to my home institution in September 2023.

I am currently working as a Research Scientist at the Centre for Responsible AI at Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), Chennai.

Prior to this, I worked as a Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), Chennai where I also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow before that, under the esteemed mentorship of Prof. Balaraman Ravindran and Dr. Gitakrishnan Ramadurai.

I am currently working on multiple projects in the areas of Natural Language Processing, Machine/Deep Learning, Responsible AI and Public Health.

Previously, I worked as a Data Scientist in Penzigo Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd., NITK-STEP, Surathkal, Mangaluru, INDIA.

I earned my Ph.D. in Information Technology, specializing in Healthcare Analytics and Informatics from Department of Information Technology, at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, INDIA. I submitted by thesis in March 2020 and I cleared my defence viva in September 2020.

For my Ph.D., I worked under the eminent guidance of Dr. Sowmya Kamath S and I am a part of the Healthcare Analytics and Language Engineering (HALE) Lab headed by her at the department.

My research interests lie in the areas of Semantic Web, Information Retrieval, Knowledge and Data Sciences, Natural Language Processing, etc. I am a Python enthusiast and I love building Web & Mobile Apps.
